domain:usqcd"gauge ensemble" are Markov Chain Monte Carlo datasets containing random space-time configurations of the chromo-electromagnetic field. Each folder contains one or more chains. They are generated using the most powerful supercomputers and constitute the basic data structure for Lattice QCD computations. The data available here has been donated by different research groups, they are are stored in the NERSC HPSS. Different groups use different file formats to store the ensembles. Here is a script to detect and convert file formats.

Geometry: 16x16x16x32
Action: Beta=5.7 Staggered Nf=2 mq=0.015
Number of configurations: 0
Authors: Columbia-Fermi256
These configs were generated on the Fermi256 parallel machine at Columbia University, using the R-algorithm with stepsize 0.0075. Successive configurations are separated by 0.5 units of MD time. They were fixed to Landau gauge on the T3E at the Ohio Supercomputer Center.

These configs were generated on the Fermi256 parallel machine at Columbia University, using the R-algorithm with stepsize 0.0075. Successive configurations are separated by 0.5 units of MD time. The parameters coincide with those of ensemble CU_0001, but since they are a separate stream we archive these separately. They were fixed to Landau gauge on the T3E at the Ohio Supercomputer Center.

Geometry: 16x16x16x32
Action: Wilson Beta=5.8 Quenched
Number of configurations: 200
Authors: OSU
Simple Wilson action. Configs generated w/ 4:1 ratio of SU(2) over-relaxed and SU(2) heatbath. Successive configurations are separated by 1000 sweeps, where one sweep consists of three SU(2) subgroup updates. They were fixed to Landau gauge using the over-relaxed "LANL" algorithm.
